Frequent Questions
Where can I see samples and colors of crafted Drums?
You can visit our Page at: www.tamboresvl.com or on FB as Tambores VL.
What does the finished Drum include?
Includes drum frame with finished color, wood and hardware. Size and model selected with leather ready to touch.
“The making of the Drum is a purely “Artisan” work, so the finishes, shape, size and details are NOT 100% guaranteed. The only thing that is not handmade are the eyebolts and their base. All works and products are developed and built according to the buyer's request. This is artisanal work so each piece is individual and unique to the person who builds it.”
What warranty does the Drum have?
The production of the Artisanal Drum has a 3-month guarantee on the structure of the barrel. That is, if it comes unstuck or out of square, as long as it has not been thrown or dropped (Due to the experience of the craftsman and the shape of the structure in which the Drum is located, it will be determined and evaluated if it received any impact that changed its shape) and/or if it is caused by high or low temperatures that are reasons for this to happen. The leather or skin, the eyebolts and their side bases (plates) have no Warranty. Note: One of the most common reasons for these changes is leaving it inside the car for a long time receiving high or low temperatures. Other; Sit on him to touch him.
What is the difference between a “Primo” Drum and a “ Buleador ” Drum?
The difference between the two is the diameter of the top of the drum. The “Primo” has a diameter between 13” to 14.5” and the “ Buleador ” has a diameter of about 15”. These measurements may vary. Also the “Primo” has a higher sound and the “ Buleador ” a lower sound.
What is the cost of a Drum?
The cost of each drum is individual since it is a handcrafted work to the client's taste. Finishes and finishing techniques partly determine the cost. The “Primo or Subidor” Drum has a cost of $50 dollars more than the original price of the Basic “ Buleador ” Drum. One of the reasons is because the circumference is smaller and more difficult to make.
What are the color options?
There are a variety of colors and combinations to suit the client. You can see them on our page. Colors may vary in tone in the photos. At an additional cost we also carry out and apply some Drum finishing techniques.
How long does it take to make a Handmade Drum?
The average time is 4 to 6 weeks from the moment the order and contract is finalized. The model and design must have been agreed upon with the artisan and the initial deposit must have been received to begin production.
Can I make changes to my Artisan Drum order?
Changes to the original order have an additional charge. It will depend on the stage of development of the barrel construction and whether the change can be made. See terms and conditions of use for details.
Can I Cancel my Artisanal Drum order?
Cancellation of the order implies a retention and penalty. See terms and conditions of use for details.
Do you require a deposit for the Artisanal Drum?
We require one (1/2) part of the value quoted in the contract to begin the production of the Artisanal Drum.
Do you accept returns?
We do not accept returns of handmade products made under the agreed conditions. Each job is unique and made specifically for the client who orders it. For other products in the store, see the terms and conditions of use.
Do they carve the wood of the Drum?
Wood carving service is offered under certain restrictions. It is the client's responsibility to have permissions and copyrights. The design must be clear and defined, the art must be in original black and white and accepted by the artisan in order to verify if it is viable to carve it on the selected piece. In exclusive and intellectual property arts, it will only be carved for the client with the right and on the selected product. Arts and designs carved into wood have an additional cost.
